Front track bar bracket (frame side)

So, I installed my new front track bar this weakend, well when i went to drill out the frame bracket to 9/16" i found it was pretty egged out and i didnt have to drill it at all the bolt fit all the way thru.. Has anyone ever replaced this bracket? and if so where did you get the new bracket from? Thanks.....

What track bar are you using?

Remember your thread here:

Remember I suggested the Currie TJS or TJJ model? One of the reasons for that suggestion was because they use a 5/8" bolt, which is considerably larger than the 9/16" bolt. Drilling out to 5/8" would have eliminated the egg shape, and you wouldn't have any issues.

Replacing the bracket is a big process on the front. You gotta cut it off, which ain't a walk in park. A replacement stock cast bracket is not available anywhere that i know of, but I haven't looked hard because it sucks.

If I was going to replace that bracket I'd use a double shear mount that puts the bolt horizontal, instead of that funky stock single shear vertical crap. That then necessitates a custom made & bent track bar, with whatever flex joint you want to use in double shear. Some folks seem to use the new 2" Currie Johnny Joint's originally designed for the JK.
