Front wheels hard to spin

Took my pass front wheel off today to do a little painting in the wheel well and the tire is very hard to spin. First is this normal? Second if not what could be the problems? I drive it almost daily and havent seen anything that would indicate a problem comming from the wheel. all advice welcome.

UPDATE: I pulled off the caliper and the wheel spins freely. Can anyone tell me how to determine if the problem is in the caliper, brake line, or master booster?

Any brake fluid leaks you can see on the caliper? In general if its sticking the jeep will pull to one side when braking.. any burt smell after driving? Good news is the caliper are cheap. how many miles on the jeep?

No fluid leaks, the jeep just barely pulls towards pass side, barely noticable just thought it was the old tires, no burnt smell after driving. The jeep has 155000 miles on it. I just bought it about 1 month ago.

That's pretty much the way a bad caliper starts out. At first you'll notice a little bit of drag, next thing you know the pads are smoking and it's snatching you into the next lane when you hit the brakes. May as well do both, as one will fail right behind the other... at least that was my experience. They were $19.95 each at Oriellys with $30.00 core charges. Your mileage is consistent with what mine was too when it happened.

Thanks for the input guys. Went out and jacked up the drivers side and its a little stiff to turn also, so gonna take everyones advice and replace both. Yeah checked autozone 19.99 for the caliper 20 dollar core, thats crazy.
