FT Lift installed.....pics included at no extra charge..

Well, I finished my lift yesterday, but by the time I got done, it was too late to take any pics that would do it justice. So this morning I took the Jeep to a shop to have a front and rear alignment. I spent too much money on those tires to let them wear out prematurely!! When the alignment guy got done with the Jeep, he said I did a pretty good job for just "eyeballing" it......less than a quarter inch off. Not too bad for a first timer! This was my first time lifting a coil spring suspension. I'd done a few leaf spring suspension lifts, but this was a good learning experience for me. OK, on to the pics. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the install. My batts in the camera were dead when I went to the shop. Bummer. Oh well, whatever, here are the pics.......

Sorry, no flexing pics yet. But here's a green shot...

Side view......I had the front tires angled a bit to the left, that's why it looks a bit off-kilter.

Another one, this one a front 3/4 angle.

I SOAKED the undercarriage with PB Blaster, so it looks a little "lubed" down there, going to have to clean it up with some degreaser, but here it is for now. The swaybar discos seem to be built pretty tough, we'll see later how easy they are to use.

And Scout, this one's for you like I promised. I bought these OME Long Travel Monotubes from Scout while I was still in Afghanistan and promised him I'd take a pic of them installed when I got back. Well, I got back sooner than expected and here they are!!

And this seems to sum it all up for me......you can see my reflection if you look hard enough....I'm not the greatest photographer if you couldn't tell....

The install went really well. Luckily the shop here on post has coil spring compressors. I don't know how I would have done this lift without those compressors. I took my time and threw the directions away, they were crap. Everything on this lift was pretty straightforward.....I never felt like I was getting in over my head. I'm really impressed with the quality of components on this lift. I've heard some not-so-good things about the Full Traction adjustable trac bar, but it's very heavy duty. Maybe they started making new ones that are better quality than the old ones? The rear trac bar relocator bracket was 1/4 inch steel and a snap to install. I've heard other people bitch about how hard it was to install their rear brackets, but the FT one is a cinch. The rear antisway bar links are heavy duty, having solid build and poly bushings. All the bushings in this kit were good quality poly, actually. It took me just over 6 hours to do this install BY MYSELF. I had the luxury of a lift, which makes life alot easier, but I did the install by myself. If I'd had help, I'm sure we could have knocked it out in less than half the time. I didn't really want any help on this one, though. I wanted to do it myself so I could learn all of the ins and outs of the suspension system I was installing on the Jeep. That way I can be assured of the quality of work, and if anything goes wrong (it won't), I have no one to blame but myself.....

Yep....that's next! On the 5th of July is a big Jeep "Jamboree" thing at the local ORV park. I'm planning on breaking her in that weekend. I'd been waiting on a new winch remote to come, but it's here, so I can get crazy.

Thanks, guys. It's the Full Traction 3" lift. I'm really happy with how this setup rides on the road. It doesn't wander and goes straight down the road. Not too surprising, since I just had it aligned. It is SO MUCH SMOOTHER than the stock setup, and especially smoother than with the BB I had on there previous to this lift. Those shocks, Scott, are night and day better than anything I've ever used. THANKS AGAIN!!

Now all I need to do is get it off the road to see how she performs. I'll try to be smart enough to check my batteries before heading out on the 5th so I can get some good pics of her flexing her stuff.

Here it is how she sits......

3" FT suspension lift
1" PA body lift
(4) OME long travel monotubes
(5) 33x12.50x15 MT Baja Claw tires (on backwards..... )
Bunches of other junk that really doesn't require mentioning

I knew you would be happy with the shocks. I just wish they made some that would work with my lift. If they did I'd be all over them.

It's at Tuttle Creek ORV Park on the 5th of July. Randolph is having a big car show/Jeep get-together that weekend for some off-camber fun. I'm trying to get some more info on it so I can post it, but the guy who has the info isn't available. I might try calling the Randolph Chamber of Commerce to see if they have any info. At any rate, I'll let you know more as soon as I know more on the subject. It should be a good time. I went to the car show in Abilene a couple of weeks ago and a guy in a CJ7 was telling me all about this annual Jeep Meet on the 5th. Said there'll be TONS of Jeeps, Scouts, and Broncos, along with all of the wannabes with pickups. Like I said, it should be a good time. He even gave me some literature on the event, but I left it with my buddy.

Looks awesome man!!! Good job. Glad to hear everything fell into place during the install. After a few days don't forget to go back over all the bolts and tighten them up. I just got done with mine and I was surprised at how many bolts had worked themself loose.

Give us some pics of your first ride and update us on how it performs.

Will do. I also used the blue threadlocker on all of the suspension bolts. I'm going to check them all tomorrow morning when I change the oil. I'll be sure to give a full update on how she performs when I take her out and wring her neck a bit.......looking forward to it!!

Thanks, Point. I ended up with 4 and 1/4" of lift from that 3" lift. I'm sure the springs will settle in time to give me closer to the 3" advertised lift. Couple that with the 1" bl and she's up there. I did not install the included spacers for the transfer case drop. I wanted to see if I would get any vibes and if so, fix them with washers. I have very minor vibes below 25 mph, but they disappear over the speed of 25. I'll lower the transfer case by a washer or two and see if that fixes the low speed vibes. The lowering kit FT sent me are 1" spacers that seem like they're just too big.

I busted my ass to earn that stack. It has nothing to do with being a spotlight warrior. How is it different than your sig? You list a bunch of things you're proud of what you've done to your Jeep. I've displayed my stack. Tell me how that's different. Just because you don't approve of it doesn't mean I'm taking it off. I appreciate your comments on my Jeep, but I've bled for this country more than once and I'm damn proud of my accomplishments. My guess is that you wouldn't have a problem with my stack if it was minimal...........and less than yours. Am I right? Do you know what each of those ribbons is for? I'm a damn humble person.....if you knew me better, you'd know that. I don't look down on people and I don't badmouth them either. Thanks for your concern, but the stack stays. Or we can work out a deal. You erase your sig and I'll erase mine, since they're one and the same. How about it? I'm a resaonable man.

HA I wouldnt consider our sig's the same seeings mine has to do with this forum ..i have jeep stuff on my sig..and hey this is a jeep forum..crazy ..yah I'm sure you're reasonable ..I am too..And yes i know what all those ribbons stand for..and lets not get into a dick comparing contest of who's bled more and what not..that's not were i'm trying to go with this statement..all i'm saying is that it's kinda silly putting that up on here..mostly to the fact that any civilain looking at that..isnt going to know what the **** any of that **** means..neither do they ******* care..all they'll say is thanks for serving our country..so say you're in the military..you'll get the same thanks from that..Honestly I hate wearing my dress blues..you know why..because i hate people commenting on how many friggin medals i have and what not then it goes into a million questions about what they all stand for..i guess if you enjoy that kinda attention then fine..but i've been raised in the marines were we are silent about the things we do and we dont brag and show off our stacks for no reason..If this makes you butt hurt then well you need to re-evaluate why you came into the service..I came in for many reasons..but one was surely not seeing how many ribbons i can stack up...

Just as I figured. This statement says alot. Actually, it says more than any of your other drivel. Once again, thanks for your concern about my sig. It sounds like you're the one who's butt hurt about it. No one has ever said a word about it except you, and there are plenty of guys on this forum who are in the military, or who were in the military. If you'd like, I could post a poll and see if there's anyone else out there who is offended by my sig. If there is an overwhelming negativity towards it, I'll change it. Otherwise, find somewhere else to post than on my thread. You're going to find that it's hard to make friends on this forum when you alienate yourself this soon after joining.

Lol wow..offending..def not offending..just offering my opinion, don't care if you don't want it either..I think thats apart of what these forums are about (opinions)..and i'm not worried about alienating myself on here..unless you want to take a poll for that too? Cause i guess you like polls. But if theres so many military on here then why don't you see other guys with there stacks on here? Good question right? Once again i was just letting you know it's kinda lame to have your stack up on a Jeep Forum.. but all things aside man..i'm sure we've shared and bled on the same dirt together..
