I have a UK based 97 Sahara that is dual fuel (Petrol & LPG).
On petrol the idle is up and down, the engine surges and kangaroos like crazy when you attempt to drive. Once the LPG comes online (ie after revving the engine to over 1600rpm) it evens out and runs fine.
My local mechanic has run the live data and due to the ammended lambda signal generated by the LPG control system the fault code for faulty sensor comes up. Having had the lambda sensor exchanged previously and recently I'm wary of just changing it again.
I've had the suggestion made that the issue may be due to silt in the tank as it only occurred after running the tank nearly dry also the running of the fuel pump has been questioned (it's an in tank one).
Has anyone any ideas of how I can either isolate the cause of this problem. I intend to drop the fuel tank once the weather here improves, but would really appreciate some advice/feedback from someone who's had (and hopefully resolved) similar problems.
