Full door outer handle

Are the outer handles on full doors universal? I found these on amazon, and they don't say what they'll fit. All info is appreciated and NEEDED.....mine broke yesterday.

Having just done this (to both doors) I would say, if you actually NEED a new door handle look for one that fits for year. Don't get suckered in by price alone. I bought a cheap handle, looked the same, came with a rubber gasket and everything. The problem was, after I went through everything involved with the install, the cheap return spring on the new handle snapped. This was after five or six times trying the door.

I then took a look at the stock handle, and saw the problem. It's a pretty simple mechanism. What sometimes happens is the inner latch rides over the stop point. Easy to fix, then carefully bend the latch down a little, so it doesn't do it again.

I painted my door handles while I had them off. They look and work great now!

That's exactly what mine did. Before they messed up, they rattled. Will tweaking that lil lever fix the rattle, too?

If you buy that stuff from eBay they are usually junk from China. I buy all my stuff from the dealer. You get what you pay for and I only want to do the job once. My personal preference.

Thanks. They came out pretty easy, you just have to follow the directions and take your time.

This was one of the online instructions I used:

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/how-...ors-45442.html

But I also used common sense.

I didn't remove the window. It's tight, but very doable.

Here is the same door handle (broken) when I bought it.
