Full doors?

Hey all. I am new to this forum, so bare with me, because I am sure this question has already been asked before.

I have recently bought a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, it is Bright Jade Satin (official name), or otherwise teal in color. I bought the jeep with a soft top and half doors. As I have seen on lots of jeep websites, there are many aftermarket doors and things you can buy…

But my question is, where can I find full doors to match my bright teal jeep? Or is this near impossible? I've checked Craigslist, Ebay, but it is difficult to find a jeep the same color as mine (I have only seen one other one locally).

Anything helps! :)

Thanks,

Sarah

You may find a pair if you keep looking, but the quicker way would be to buy the first good set you find and have them painted. It'll cost more but they'll match, and the better body shops can actually scan your paint color and custom mix paint to match it perfectly.

Ebay or craigslist will be the quickest. I am currently looking but not in a hurry. Pick bought a set on my last jeep for 800 plus 200 in shipping from ebay. Got them painted for around 250. I was able to then sell my half doors for 500 on craigslist. Now, on to painting, it will probably not match exactly. Your old paint will be somewhat dull/faded compared to a new paint job. Mine came out close enough. Full doors made a huge difference in noise with the softtop.

IMO, if you plan on going topless /windows out/or doorless often, full doors will be more difficult to deal with. (heavier, smaller window opening, less comfortable arm rest, doesn't look right going topless with doors on)

Although, they are good for the winter in areas of colder climates.

You can coordinate a trip to your local autobody store and your paint shop to have the actual paint on your Jeep scanned and the exact color mixed to get a perfect match.

I was going to guess $100/dr in paint, so $250 sounds about right. That would probably be my preferred option since the condition of the paint that you get, especially if you ship them, may not be very good.

I also second having both sets of doors. I still haven't made it that far and just have full doors (which as you may have noticed, are the really expensive ones, so that's OK with me).

I dont know where you guys get this idea that just because you had an autobody shop look up the code it will be a perfect match. Everytime you enter a paint code into the database it pulls up the the formula, which includes all the variants with the "Prime" being usually the first unless there is a new update. There is no such thing as a perfect color match without a trained eye. Sorry to burst your bubble

Wow. Even more ignorance. A "Spectrometer" is this so called wonder machine that you all are thinking of. Your crazy if you think it produces a match. Jerry is somewhat right. Only a trained eye will produce an exact match but if the painter isnt paid for tint time i can gaurantee he wont spend more than .5 adjusting the color
