Full doors!!!

Got my full doors put on today and then got them tinted. One of my fender flares was loose so I just took them off. Liking it for now. Love this look.

NEXT UP: Find a hardtop for sale.....

If you like it, that's all that really matters, right?

Well the tint is dark. It is 5%. I am still trying to figure out what flares I want. I like the no flares look but it isn't permanent. Just for the mean timr

I love dark tinted window ....during the day that is.... you can't see squat at night though and in the winter around here it gets too cold to drive around with your windows down at night.

In California if you tint those windows you WILL get a ticket. So, yeah you have to leave them down. But, that sort of defeats the purpose of the tint. And yeah, its cold at night too. I just don't fight the law anymore, its not worth it. You know the saying, and so does any wise man.

so I got a hard top put on as well now. Once I put the hardtop on, the door no longer fit perfectly. The doors are off just slightly that when you let go of the door, they won't close. You will have to close them. The passenger door is sagging and the driver door is high. I know about the washer trick and I am going to try that but I notice this:

This is the top pin (passenger door)

This is the bottom door pin (passenger door)

Does anybody know why this is happening? I think I am just going to replace the door hinges and see what happens.

DAMN!!! NOBODY HUH? I can't figure it out myself. I tried the washer trick and it works just fine just sucks because there is about a 1/4" of washer on the bottom part of the door. I guess I will see what it looks like once the new door hinges come in.

Is there any up/down adjustment on the hinges if you loosen the screws holding it all on? I'd try closing the door, then loosening and re-tightening it all in the right places? Could be a manufacturing tolerance issue tat would normally get dealt with at the assembly plant? Just ideas.

You need to loosen the hinge on the door and adjust them to where you need them, there's a good bit of movement in those hinges

It sounds to me like you need your doors re-aligned now that you have a new top. Any good body repair shop can do it for you, or maybe they could give you help on doing it yourself.

If the doors fit and operated properly with a soft top on and then do not when you have a hard top on, I'm not sure that I'd be focusing on adjustment at the doors until I figured out what about the top was causing it. It sounds like the top is applying pressure in a twist. You can adjust the doors to compensate but it sounds like a top alignment issue, or perhaps your windshield is tweaked? Tub been in a little accident ever?

tub has never been in an accident that I know of. I looked up the carfax as well and nothing showing an accident. I thought it was the windshield but nothing seems to be off. I tired to remove the hardtop and reinstall it and it fits on the jeep just perfectly. No adjustment needed. For some reason, that lower passenger side door pin is just not seated right. I tried closed the door and loosen both hinges but nothing worked with out those washer installed. At this point, everything is working fine (with 1/4"-1/2" of washers) until I get my new door hinges in.

we will see then.
