fun time...

Ok so all the horror I have had to deal with this month...I bought a 2004 Rubicon...the jeep I've always wanted...I traded in my trusty little 4 banger for this rubi. So happy I drove it home to show it off...I got to my buddys house and I got a phone call...it was the dealer...they never put the inspection stickers on the jeep. Now I had to drive a half hour to go get stickers. They put the stickers on and sent me on my way. I was on my way back and eager to drive. I parked at my house and pulled up the ebrake and it did nothing... I put it in gear as always and parked. A little later I jumped in to take a ride and a half mile down the road the check engine light came on. Now I was pissed and to make matters worse, the jeep had a sway that was tough to control and high speeds. I called my local shop to see what caused the swaying. He had no idea so I asked them to check the check engine light and tighten the ebrake. The check engine light was the notorious o2 sensor. He pulled the wheel off and there was gear oil everywhere. So the dif seal was leaking into the rear brake. I called the dealer and said this should not have passed inspection! They said ok bring it back and our mech will look at it(55 miles away). So I called the state trooper to explain just in case of any foul play (fraud of inspection in pa). He said give them a chance so I did. They took 2 weeks to fix and I finally had my jeep back. On the way home I heard crunching and metal on metal. I looked at the wheel and there was gear oil on it again! I took it to my personal mech to be sure it should have passed and he said the dif seals are leaking the axle is bent and the u joint at the transfer case is shot and was marked previously that it needed to be fixed. Also the dif is bent and broken and the jeep is dangerous and not drivable. I called the dealer and he told me that's not right we fixed it you got bad info that my mech has no idea what he is doing (20+ years exp) nothing is bent or broken and he said we have done enough and will not do anything more and we are prepared for any actions you may take...so I called the state trooper and explained to him what happened. He sounded like oh another used car deal blah blah. He said ok I will go to your shop and look at this jeep. He went to the shop where the jeep was and the mech walked him thru and pulled the wheel off to show the seal leak and the axle crumbled right in front of the cop! I got a call from the cop saying it will be towed up the 55 miles and I will be reimbursed the shop fees and fixed right! New dana 44 rear and such! I called to be sure they put a 44 and not a 35 and he said for the record when I said it was not right I was just going off the mechs words. Hahahahahahahaha those guys tried to jerk me all around...I gave them 3 weeks to pass it and they diddent...now...what rental do I want? Hahahahahahaha! That's my rant. Thanks guys!

Wow! What a painful story. It is no wonder that people don't trust used car salesmen and the shops they work for. I wish you the best of luck but fear the worst...

Haha... He's playing nice to avoid fines or being shut down.. He knows in the long run it's better in the long run to fix up your TJ then to loose his business
