Post Fuse #4 & Fog Lights

While searching for a source of switched power from the fuse box, I ran across a diagram for the fuse box that had information I wanted to share with the forum...

We are all pretty familiar with the door switch defeat properties of fuse #4, but owners of earlier Wranglers may not be aware that it is also the fuse that controls your factory installed fog light relays...

Before you pull your hair out troubleshooting factory fog light problems in the earlier models... check to be sure that the fuse is installed

Hope that this helps out some...

Good find, that is sure to save someone a lot of frustration and rewiring.

Favorite quote, Thanks GoldenSahara00 "not many people do it. most of the guys who do do it, don't sit on the computer and talk/write about it, they do it then go wheel"

Yeah, that is a good find.

I've had fuse #4 in and out several times during the past month due to radical changes in the weather (and having my doors removed) .... but never considered checking the fog lights with that fuse removed.

I pulled the #4 fuse last spring when I dumped my doors for the first time, and never put it back. The fog lights work just fine on my '02.
I wonder what year(s) are so afflicted...

My 2000's fogs work with #4 removed, so earlier than that.

If you have not found that switched power, check behind the glove box and you will find a switched and a hot all of the time wire that is just sitting there for you to make use of, I know Jeep stopped doing this at some time but I think it's still there on the 2000 model.
