Hello all!

I finally convinced my wife that getting a new(er) vehicle is a good idea and that it should be a wrangler. My dad had a wrangler (08 unlimited), my brother has it now. I have driven it many times for many miles and loved it. I don't have the budget for a JK though and I like the look of TJs better. I have heard that the ride is horrendous though compared to the JK, and my question is how does it compare to a 2nd generation Chevy s10? I have a '97 and that thing is rough. If the TJ rides better, good. If not, I will have second thoughts. I know the best thing to do is go test drive one, and believe me I have tried, but the three I have called on all sold before I could get there. They sell like hotcakes up here in Michigan. I also know that I shouldn't be getting a wrangler for the ride, just that I can barely stand being in my s10 for more than an hour.

I just recently bought an 04 LJ ( a TJ but with a longer wheelbase) and it rides great. I drove a TJ the same day that had a significant lift and I'll be honest it rode like crap. This probably had lots to do with the lift, etc. Look for an LJ.... I don't regret it one bit, I love it. So much more room and a much smoother highway ride.

Just bought a '06 Rubi Unlimited (LJ) from VA. It was an 11 hour drive back to MA. I thought it rode great. Keep in mind she's bone stock.
It's my first Jeep, but had been told they behave better on the road

My previous truck was a mazda b3000 for 5 years before i sold it to buy my 2001 TJ(stock on 31's) last summer. So far a year in, I only miss the box of my truck but i plan on eventually getting a hitch and small trailer. As for the ride, abit more stiff but not a deal breaker. Also i dont miss rear drive only, especially in winter up here. I do like the smaller wheel base of my jeep. There is so much more you can do to a jeep to make it your own vs a small pick-up but the ride of a TJ i find is distinctive in it self.
