I was going to buy a used Lj dana 44, but I would have to regear, and lock. I think I am leaning towards a G2 axle, and getting locker and gears I want from the get go. My question is what is a Spool dif. It is around $600 cheaper. I want to order later today or tomorrow.
$2200 for a G2 with ARB, or $2700 for an 8.8 the way I want it. I have built it multiple times, and end up high $2ks. What jumps the price up is the $500 add for anything over 4.10's, $850 locker, and it comes out to almost 3k.
A spool will lock the driveshafts together 100% of the time ALL the time. It will put more stress on the tires, shafts etc. Not the best for a street driven jeep. As for G2 vs 8.8, are the g2 just stock tj dana 44's with stuff added? If so the tubes will be weaker than the 8.8.
