Garage trans rebuild cost

Took my trans to a garage today to see what they would charge to rebuild it. Told me the estimated time was 6-8 hours at 60 bucks an hour. Does it really take that long to get these ax15 trans apart and back together? I literally took it to him with it out of the jeep and the front casing housing 5th gear off it.
