gas milage and power between 31'' and 32''

I am about to jump on this new tires.. BB lift should be here today.. is there a huge difference between gas milage and power between 31 and 32'' tires.

Power and gas milage might sway me to 31''.. thinking of bfg mud.

also would like to know is it worth getting mud or A/T.. will be driving freeway 50 miles a day. to commute. and weekend fun.. but not every weekend... so moderate off road..

I have a BB with 31 BFG MTs and I drive mine daily. I'm getting awesome tread life on mine so far. I also drive about 400 miles round trip every other month to go wheeling. I just make sure I keep them properly aired up and rotated with every oil change.

::edit::N/M... you were looking for gas mileage not tread wear.

transmission and gearing options will drastically effect fuel mileage and torque to the wheels. I am going to run 31s under my 3speed auto with 3.07s and pray to whoever is upstairs that i dont loose too much power at the wheels. Shouldnt be an issue since I hardly ever go faster than 65 ever.

Mine has the sucky 3.07 gears. I'm hoping when I move up to 4.11s my gas mileage will improve a bit.

I believe it's somewhere around 1200 rpm. Fifth gear is almost worthless when on an incline of any kind. I'm constantly having to downshift.

05 Rubi. Factory 31s, factory 4.11s. 6spd manual. 16mpg a tank, being fuel conscious (80% highway)top on. 12-13 top off. got 12.5 in the mountains on the highway.

65 mph=2650 rpms

2004 with I6, auto, 4 speed, 3.73 gears, 32" BFG AT's. 14 mpg city, 18 hiway. Runs at 2000 rpm at 70mph. The AT's give a great ride and are not loud at all.
