can i get my vin # to the local dealership to find out what gears i have? i assume 3.73s.. the rubicons come with 4.10s right?

my jeep came stock with 31s.. and is the sahara package.. this is why i assume i have 3.73s

i found a dana 44 for sale and i might get it if i got matching gears

Yes...If you have the stock gears the dealer can pull the info with your vin# at the parts counter.

Not sure what the rubi's came with.

Wow, if you found a stock D44 pulled from a TJ and its cheap than your really lucky. They dont usually come by easily. Jump on that deal if you can. Like bigjeep said, just check out your diff. tag. That'll tell you the ratio.

if all else fails, you can submit your vin# on jeep's website and they'll send you your vehicle build sheet upon request. that will show you what your jeep came with for more than just the axles.
