owever, both the front and rear gears need to be the same ratio or darn close.
You only have to do the rear if you only plan to stay in 2WD drive. And no, the ratios cannot be darn close they need to be as precise as possible
or you'll chew right through 'em. I would highly recommend if you have a Dana 35 to look into picking up and welding a Ford 8.8 out of a Ford Explorer. You'll pay $1k for a set up Dana 44, you'll pay $350 for a donor 8.8.
