Ok, here's the Deal, My buddys 97 TJ is siting in my garage after being worked on by another "friend".
The alleged friend has done all kindrs of tune-up work to it for a rough running issue. Long story short, it was towed here after all the work was done. it would at least run before.
First thing i see is the shiny new distributer, sitting 1/2 inch high and the hold down ear broken off. First thought was the said friend had really F*ed up that job, however further checking shows that excessive camshaft walkthe problem here. After tearing into it, I see no mechanical device for keeping the shaft from walking foreward towards the timing cover. (yes, the bolt has made a nice cut in the inside of the cover.)
How the hell is the camshaft secured?
