Gear ratio question 06 jeep wrangler 65th ann. edition

I am running 33x12.50 tires I want to change my rear gear ratio to 4.56 do I have to change the front gear ratio to? If so what do you reccommend? Sorry if this has already been asked I am accessing this forum from my cell phone

Yes, you have to regear both axles to the same ratio. I just regeared my 02 4.0 5spd w/33's to 4.56 and it is just right (3.07 stock). Search on here, there is much info.

What tranny? If you have the 6 speed manual 4.10 would be perfect, unless you think you might go to 35s eventually. Then 4.56.

If you have the auto 4.56 should be good. And as was said, both axles must be re-geared the same. And if you have the extra coin, it's a great time to install traction aids like lockers or Tru trac LSD.

I have the manual tranny I do plan on going to 35s in the future so I am going to do the 4.56 in front and rear thanks for your help

What are your RPM's at 65 to 70 ?

Somewhere around 2500rpm
