Gear shifter hitting and not stayin in gear! Help please

I recently replaced my floor pan cover the inner boot on the gear shifter since the last one the rubber was tore and lettin in all kinds of heat. Well after I replaced it the part the connects the top part of the shifter to the bottom part the big "connection in the shaft" hits the back of the surrounding cover and pots out if 2nd 4th 6th and reverse ok so I found a 1 & 1/4 body lift thinkin it would raise the body up far enough to clear the connector to not hit but now it worse can't even get it in 2nd gear please help with any suggestions

Your body lift probably included a T-Case lowering kit. If so, when you lowered your t-case, your shifter came with it, so now its leaning low and back. Im sure what a lot of guys with a lot more knowhow than myself will suggest is an SYE so you can take raise your t-case back up into place... or you could grind away at your tub and/or torch and bend your shifter!

It's easier to just move the console back an inch or so to make room for the shifter. Some people use a torch to heat and bend the shifer so it doesn't hit

Well the console isn't hitting, its the rubber surround on the inner boot leading down to the transmission and if I cut it to make it fit then I would be right back in the same spot with heat coming in. And it only came with the transfer case linkage drop not dropping the transfer case or transmission.

Ok after sitting under it and staring found out what the prob is..... the previous owner put blocks under the factory transmission skid plate so I was just fighting again that when I raised it lol great not to try to fix the prob either drop skidplate/transmission further or some complete other fab work Gah I love my jeep but usually when there is a prob it Leeds to lots of $ to fix other problems

You buy them separate. I have a JKS 1.25" body lift and a zone 1" motor lift. With a motor lift you don't need all that. I have a 1.25" body lift and the instructions say if your in stalling a motor lift at the same time you don't need the fan shroud drop and transfer case linkage stuff. But idk if doing a motor lift will fix your issue. I thought it might have at the beginning

Yea the transmission drop was already on my jeep and the shifter done fine as it was cause the previous owner cut the inner rubber boot (floor pan cover) then when I bought a new floor pan cover I threw the shifter off and wouldn't let it go in gear so I tried to raise the body to get the floor pan cover and body to come up past the shifter (the part that was hitting) and it just wasn't high enough to clear so instead of dropping my transmission more I'm gonna remove the 1 1/4 body lift and put a 2" body lift on and hope that clears the part of the shifter that's hitting I was considering heating up my shifter and bending it forward but I would have to heat up the short part that goes into the shifter so instead of taking a chance on messing something else up I'm gonna try the body lift (plus I actually talked my wife into lettin me go bigger so.....)
