gearing question

A few months ago my pinion gear on the rear sheered and I got the money and got it fixed. I had it on the highway for the first time sense it was fixed and it does wanna run highway speeds in fifth gear now and it use to. I had 4.11 gears in it and they replaced it with 4.10 gears and said they were the same. Could this be causing a difference?

Did you ensure the gear ratio they told you is what is actually installed?

+1 are you sure on the gear ratio. I remember a while back you said you picked it up already modified and wondering if there's a different ratio in there.

Did you physically check and look at ratio, or just say yea they are 4.11s (4.10s based on factory gearing) 4.10s will run it, but your rpms will be high and burn thru more gas

If your lifted and running 35's, you proabbly should have gone with 4.88s

Yes I had to pull the cover off so they knew what gears where in it so they could order it and they were 4.11s they replaced them with 4.10s atleast that's what my receipt says and what the shop told me. And im running 35 inch tires and didn't go higher in gears cuz I was only replacing the rear fears not both

I guess the whole thing us I don't really understand the whole gearing thing so I don't know if there us a difference between 4.11s and 4.10s that would cause me not to be able to stay in fifth on the highway like I use to be able to do
