I tried to race my buddy at the airport and dropped the clutch at a red light and snapped my yoke

Ouch!

I can't take a picture right now since it's dark, but I bedlined my flares, then took it to a car wash a few weeks later and pretty much stripped one of the flares back to it's original apperance before it was bedlined. The other 3 held up just fine though.

Did it not have enough time to cure or what? I thought bedliner was tougher than that.

Not poking fun, just don't want to make the same mistake, I plan on bedlining the sides on mine? Kind of like those side stripes they put on mustangs along the bottom of the sides, but using bedliner.

My epic mistake so far, i'm sure I will have more, was wiring the stereo.

2 orange wires on the harness, dimmer (orange/white) and illumination (orange), 1 orange/white wire on the stereo.

I figured that doesn't make sense, i don't have a dimmer on my factory radio (dimmer switch on column doesn't dim it). But I do have illumination, so I hooked up to the illumination wire.

So doing this apparently blows the accessory fuse in main fuse box. At least it was an easy fix. Hook right wire up, replace fuse. Pissed me off for about an hour till i figured out what i did.

Moral of the story, just match up the dang colors.

Just got my winch, and decided to take some poser shots. The next day I totally forgot it was on the bumper and drove down the road then BAM! Ran the thing over with front and rear tires...

I'm actually not sure. I prepped them all the same. Dawn dishsoap and water, then sanded them down with some really fine sandpaper then washed them with water again. It had a few few weeks to cure (3 if I remember correctly) so I don't think that was the issue. Like I said though the other three held up just fine. I was able to put the high pressure nozzle at the carwash less than an inch from them and it didn't hurt them at all. Only thing I can figure is I didn't wash it good enough after sanding maybe? It's been a couple months now and the other three are still holding up great so I would say go for it!

You need to prep the plastic with a plastic preparation solution. Get it in a spray can from the auto parts store and follow the directions. Dawn will NOT get all of the ArmorAll, 303, etc off the plastic.

Maybe this article will help save some time & trouble ......

was being a stupid youngn driving through puddles as fast as possible, no top doors or windshield, drove too fast, sucked water down the intake and locked up the motor, took me an hour to pull the spark plugs and pump out the water. a week later the engine blew a hole in the block.

In addition to the prep, you really should have put an adhesion promoter down first (basically a spray glue which will help the topcoat adhere).

Also if you used too fine a grit paper it may have not given the bedliner enough to bite on to...

Hey at least you were 3 for 4
