Getting back in the Jeep world soon!!!

Sold my first jeep a few years ago to get the wife a new car and started driving her old truck... Put the truck up for sale tonight and have some serious buyers coming to look tomorrow. So needless to say I am STOKED!!! I miss my jeep sooooo much. Found some good Jeeps up for sale. I'm currently looking at the TJ 97-03, my first one was an 2003 and I loved it. Seems there are a lot of jeeps with the half doors out there for sale which isn't what I really want but if I find a beauty I think I can deal with the half doors. Seems an average price is about 10K for something in those years with 90,000 to 130.000 miles. Seem about right to yall?

10K is about right for that kind of jeep in my area.... With the 6 cyl. D44 Rear axle, newish tires, AC, etc.
If it doesn't have the 6cyl they usually dont go for more than 7-8k, even in pristine condition.

It's all about waiting for the right one to pop up....

What part of the country are you in? Are the Jeeps that you've been eyeing stock or modified? I4 or I6?

Just got back in the saddle myself and my story sounds like yours. I just got an LJ 05 6spd Hardtop excellent condition for 11K. There are some deals out there. Stoney Ledge Auto Sales is where I ended up......536 miles from home. Check 301 Auto Sales in Brandywine MD, they have a 03 Rubicon that looks sweet and was my second choice. I called Sean, the owner, the other day just to thank him for his help even though I didn't buy from him. He said don't worry about it, he was super happy that I had found my rig and told me I got a heck of a deal. Scour the internet, I used Autotrader and Cargurus coupled with Autocheck. I ran all vin #'s and eliminated from there. By price, options, color, and report. Took around 3 months and I was ready to travel by train and adopt our new rig. You can tell a lot about who you are buying from on the phone, believe me. Good luck to you.

Well if that don't put a wall in front of my advice. Just checked your profile and just to let you know.....you are in Texas!!!! I know it will probably come as a shock....but you are!! You don't have to deal with the New England rust factor. Though I considered some rigs from AZ, TX, etc. Though my system will work for you also. Just won't take as long. Autocheck is $45 unlimited for 30 days. I was going to say good luck......don't have to.

Yea im in central Texas area.. I'm looking for a I6 standard trans. Not to concerned about the d44 currently because this is my dd and won't see any hard wheeling untill I can get something else to drive daily and make this my toy. I would like to stay away from the Wrangler X if possible but if I find a beauty with low miles and some nice add on's I may jump on it. Saharah's are nice and I'd like to get into one of them. Also saw a freedom edition, that's something Ive never seen

And to answer Rubicons question.. I'd like to find a stock jeep nobody else has been jacking with. But if I can find one with wheels and tires and a good quality lift I'd jump on it
