good deal on TJ?

Found an 04 sport with 49,000, completley stock minus sony cd player and 5 1/2 speakers in sound bar. It's a soft top, looks to be in great condition. only bad spot isn't really visible but he backed into a pole and the tire put a bent the rear door. asking 12 but i know i can get it for 11,400.

I think i'm getting a steal but wanted to check with the ol timers as i'm a complete noob to jeeps.

the tire bent the door?! like what kind of bend is it, haha. It sounds alright, thats fairly low mileage especially for that year. color? haha.

I paid 14.5k for my O4 Sport with 13.5k miles almost three years ago, so that sounds about right to me.

ask for maintainence records, run a carfax, price the cost of the fixing the dent. offer 11k, settle for 11,400.

pic of the jeep below. He said he had the dent quoted for 500 and i could take off the price so i know 11,5 off the bat and i assumed he would take 11,4 but i'm going to come in at 11. He's a fellow military guy and needs the jeep until he leaves in two weeks so i think if i offer to let him keep it until the last day he needs then i'll buy for 11k I think he'll take it... going to get vin tomorrow and run carfax before buying just to make sure he's up front and it really is accident free minus back dent.

I can't tell you guys how excited i am about the jeep! When i was in high school I dreamed night and day about owning a wrangler. Every where i went i would have one eye out for trails off the side of the road i could take a jeep. only making matters worse, i test drove a couple knowing full well i couldn't afford them. Between the insurance being astronomical, me being a pizza delivery driver, and my parents teaching me the value of a dollar by making me work for what i wanted i never got a jeep.

now's finally the time!

It's funny how how similar our reasons for getting jeeps are. I'm in the military as well, didn't get my jeep until after I joined. And dreamed of a day when I could get mine. I got really lucky with mine. The owner was ex military and knocked 3 grand off the price and told me "i was in the military, i know you dont make S%^@"

I requested a Carfax as well before I bought mine. The former owner of mine was a Lt. Col in the Army who wasn't using the Jeep, and he had his father sell it for him.

agreed on 11k today after test drive! It has a couple of scrapes in the paint and a small dent (like a ball hit it), the back door was banged up somewhat and the fog lights would come on when ever they wanted to so he pulled the fuse... not sure whats causing that... any thoughts?

so not the PERFECT jeep but for 1,990 under the FAIR private seller blue book value I'm a happy camper!

Betcha that's from the doors being taken off, lots of Wranglers have that dimple... Note, park facing uphill slightly when removing doors..... Congrats on the Jeep, don't forget to wave!
