Question Good Lift Kits and Hard Tops?

Me and my boyfriend are moving to Brooklyn soon and need to buy a good hard top for his Jeep. I'm getting it as a gift and don't want to get something aweful. I was just wondering what brands of hard tops you guys would suggest? He has a 2006 Jeep Wrangler.
He also whines about how girly his Jeep looks so I also am going to get him a lift kit and big tires/rims. Is a 3" lift good enough to look kick ass or should I go higher? I would like to keep the ride smooth if possible. I doubt he will ever go hardcore off roading. What brands of lift kits would you guys suggest? There are so many types!
Horror stories and praise about brands are good.
Thanks in advance for the help. Greatly appreciate it.

If I were you I would find someone who is selling a hard top they don't use. That way you can get one that is factory made and it will probably save you a bundle. Look on this forum or craigslist. You can find one today i'm sure. Good luck.

I forgot..

Oh, he has half doors. I am going to have to buy doors too then? Ugh.
I think I'll just get him a lift kit then.

for a factory hardtop a trusted brand is bestop, as for the lift I recomend a 3.5" rubicon express suspension lift and to keep it riding smooth throw on some old man emu shocks, you will actually get 4+ inches out of this lift and the stance looks awesome, find some bf goodrich mud terrains and some rims of your choice and you cannot go wrong at all, thats what I would like to do, and if you want it to look even better throw on some or-fab rock doors, I think they look awesome, go check out QuadraTech :: Forward Thinking Applications there are tons of stuff for Jeeps and everything I told you is on there.

A 2006 TJ still has good springs that didn´t sag. If you opnly want it for a good look I would do it on this way:

- 2" spring spacers (80-100$)
- 1.25" bodylift and 1" motor lift (100-120$)
- 33x10.5x15 or 33x125x15 tires

I am sure that somebody can post a pic of this setup.

For a 2006 TJ you need a hardtop for 2003-2006 TJs.
