Good price for an 04 rubicon?

I sold my yj recently to upgrade to something newer and I found an 04 rubicon at a dealership nearby. It's yellow and comes with a hard top, everything is stock, and it just hit 100k miles. Their asking price is $11,995. Is this a fair deal or should I keep looking?
Thanks

that's a pretty good price for a rubicon, at least in my area. I would make sure it is truly a rubicon. When I was looking, I found quite a few that had the rubicon decal, but weren't rubicons, even at dealers. I would offer them 11,000

I think it's great price. Look for rust, and yes make sure it is a rubi.

X2^

That's a fair price if it has no rust and it is a real Rubi.

Some people really suck, so make sure.

Non-Rubi's with Rubicon decals are out there. I know of a Rubicon that was purchased that had all the good stuff swapped out. Vin#, decals, rockers and wheels were all there, but the axles were swapped out for the D30/35 and the 241 TC case was swapped out for the 231.

Never even though to check if they just threw the decals on there to be honest. I test drove it the other day and I know the inside had the switch to lock the axles but I didn't check the owners manual or anything. I'm going to run the VIN on it and check all that info to make sure it lines up, but here's a link to it anyway

It is most likely legit since it is at a Chrysler dealership.
It still would not hurt to be familiar with the different axles that are commonly found in Jeeps
I could post a chart if you can't find it online when I get back to my home PC.

Makes me feel like i overpayed for mine...

When I was searching for Rubi's, the lowest I could find was $14k; I'd say thats a great price for as clean as it is. The miles dont mean anything to me, Jeeps run forever.

Probably legit assuming it has a clean and complete Carfax and as previously stated no major rust issues........most dealers think that 100K miles is the end of a cars life (perception) and likely only gave the poor guy $7500 trade-in value on a new jeep.....so he's sitting pretty at that price and just wants to get it off the lot in the middle of winter!!

according to the vin its a real rubicon. i paid 11k for mine with a soft top a few years back mine had about 75k miles when i got it. there is one for sale in my area with 80k miles and hard top for 13k now. i'd say that the asking price of this one is in the good range. i wouldn't feel disappointed if you got it out the door for that price, but obviously you are going to want to talk them down as much as possible.

Here it is: The Dana 44 is what you are looking for front and rear on a Rubicon

Dana 44:

Dana 35 Below: Most, not all, non Rubi TJ came with this rear axle. If you end up not getting that Rubicon, and are considering another TJ, try finding one with the optional D44 rear axle. A Sport or a Sahara is your best bet.

i like how it says driver door bin under options, but you have to look at the pictures to see what transmission it has.

I bought my jeep from a major chrysler dealership. They tried to tell me that the rear main seal was leaking because they just changed the oil... It Must have been a sloppy oil change. So I had them reluctantly replace the rear main seal and adjust my warranty to cover anything oil leak related - magically the leak disappeared.

Drove it off the lot, instant death wobble. Took it back 2 or 3 times before they replaced most of the front end suspension. And they had to outsource it to an offroad counterpart because they couldnt solve the problem.

They then told me that the death wobble was caused by the "Cheap Chinese Knock-off tires" that they sold it to me with.

Bottom line, I wouldnt trust anything a dealership says just because they are a major jeep dealership.

But thats just IMO.

It's a good price for this area. I searched for a few months then bought the cheapest rubi I had found at $12,500 with more miles then this one.
