good winch test, my weekend (video)

This weekend Jenna and I were Driving around bored....if your in a jeep you look for trails etc right? Well we went up this old Radar Base Rd. in my town and found a pretty nice trail through the woods. But i ended up getting stuck at the bottom of this hill in the greasy leaf covered mud. Oh well, thats what i have a winch for. I also included a video of Jenna driving up the rest of the Hill, she thought that was a pretty big deal . We had fun, but i wasn't planning on getting muddy...

I look up a lot because the tree im using doesn't look kinda dead on top, we were good though, this is the perfect examply too of "needing lockers" at one point i try to make my way up the hill again but she wont, i dont really care to operate as a one man show:

Then once i got to a certain point i just brought the cable to the top of the hill, about 80ft of it:

Then once we got out of the greasy mess Jenna drove it up and away, she took us right out of the woods, she did a great job (put it in gear Jenna).

thanks for watching

Suggestion: When you are winching yourself, if at all possible use the Jeep to assist the pull.

agree. it makes things go smoother and better and not putting completely all the stress on the winch

Nice pics and vids . Thanks for sharing.

Gloves are also beneficial in recovery, especially with wire rope .

Ha looks like the two of you had fun. I wish my wife would wheel with me but not until there are restrooms out in the boondocks.

ADKJOE,

Thats up by the big golf ball up on the hill, the radar base. If you head up the hill passing over the interstate to go into Fairfield, there is a side road going up that hill on the right, its the only road on the hill. Take that road down to a gate (its open) and drive on through. About 100yds bang a left into an abandoned parking lot and there is a trail that starts on the back side....good luck

At first I thought you were talking of the radar base in Victory Vt. I was there in Oct. Didn't think about the one closer to home. Nice video.

That looks like some nasty stuff!
Although it does look a pretty good day of playing in the mud!
I don't playing in the mud, I just don't clean the rig after!

My wife was dead set against wheelin with me, then she got tired of being left at home.
Now she LOVES going out and seeing what we can see!

scavanau,

do drive a Blue Rubicon with 35's?? theres one in colchester that i see a lot, usually has a blaze green/yellow vest on the seat...

man was i ever glad i had the winch, its the best investment ever. Saves a lot of time and saves a huge pain in my ass, for me to just hook up to a tree 100 ft away and pull my self up a friggin hill in less than 15 minutes is crazy!

Not me. I'm a white w/white hard top stock Sahara. I've spotted your Jeep, not hard seeing it's usually parked along a main drag.
