Got a hard top for $50.

My buddy had a hardtop sitting at his impound lot. Sold it to me for $50. It needs a new back window and a new coat of paint. Any suggestions on glass and paint for it? Also my TJ never had a hard top before...do I need to get new door surrounds or anything like that?

That is awesome! I'm am actually going to go pick up a hardtop tomorrow. Trading my soft top bows and mount, and the tail gate bar and mount plus 150 for mine. It also needs a paint job and back glass.

I have looked up glass for it and you can get them from amazon for around 230 without defrost. Still looking around to see if plexiglass will be cheap to do around me. For paint I was just going to tape off the window ruff it up some and spray on semi-gloss rustoleum.

Hard Top Back Glass, Non-Heated PPR-3099039702

BTW 97-02 and 03-06 hard tops have different glass. You can tell it is 97-02 if it has vents on the rear both sides.

Lol. he was gonna just give it to me for free and I told him I'd give him $50 just cause I'm a nice guy. haha. It does have the side vents. So I need to make sure I get glass for the 97-02 TJ? Has anyone ever used bedliner or plastidip on their hardtops? I was thinking about maybe trying that? Didn't know if it would make it too heavy or not.

The rustoleum bed liner doesnt really go on that thick, so I dont think it would add too much weight. Two cans would probably cover well. It might be rough to wash though...

The bedliners in cans are much smoother than spray on and roll on as it doesn't have the rubber grit in them. Though how well it will stand up to UV rays is another thing.

Krylon Fusion paint for the top. I also painted the inside. Check out Jeepglass.com for the window. Congrats on a great deal!
