Got some work done today

I installed a new front and rear bumper today on my TJ. I really like this look. This job wasn't quite as easy as I thought it would be but I got it done. I also ended up dealing with some surface rust on my frame behind my rear bumper. I treated it and painted it. I am happy with the way that this turned out though.

What did you do today?

X2 but I will admit it looks 10 times better in black than it does chrome!

Good job though! What was difficult about it? I have bumpers on the way and any tips are greatly appreciated!!

I'll bet the torx bolts were difficult to remove.

I think they look great. When I get the money those are the bumpers I'll probably buy.... In the mean time I am going to take my OE's and put a fresh coat of paint on 'em.

The bolts weren't that hard to remove. I did put some PB Blaster on it and let it soak in. After that I was able to remove the bumpers easily.

I found the bumpers off of Ebay. You can find them VERY reasonable on Ebay but watch the shipping costs.

I am considering putting the nerf bars on it now because she assholes keep on dinging my doors with their doors when I park. I figure why not let them ding a nerf bar and ding their door even worse! We shall see. I was worried about tapping the frame but after I did the rear bumper I find it easy to drill the frame (with the right bits it makes all the difference).

You can find each bumper for under $180 on Ebay if you look around.

I like the looks alot since it's the same as mine I can go to school on how mine will look. The only differance is I want a receiver front and back so I can use my winch from either end. Great job!

Thanks. When you do yours don't forget the PB blaster. I credit that with making the bolts easier to get out.

On the rear frame I used a special rust treatment followed by paint. It looks so much better now that it is flat black again. I also caught that problem REALLY early so it should prevent it from getting worse.
