I have a question (well, several) for members who have grille guards installed on their Jeeps to keep rocks and large bugs (we have a lot of those in New York!) from damaging their radiators.
Do you notice a difference in how hot the engine runs with the grille guards in, as compared to without it?
I believe you may be referring to something like I have.
We have 120 degree days here, and the Jeep doesn't overheat with it installed. so no worries there.
It does keep the vast majority of bugs, mud, rocks, birds, cows (well maybe not cows) out of my grille...it was installed by the P.O. of my Jeep. I've found it for sale in quadratec for ~300.00 iirc. so I've kept it. (even though its chrome)
I have seen that you can make those out of differant materials like the metal covers from air filters, the ones that go in your house... Not sure, the air filter we have doesnt have the metal covers, but I have seen some that do for alot less than $300.
