grinding when let off gas

Just got a 2003 wrangler and started to hear a grinding noise when i let off the gas at any speed. it does not happen when in neutral or with the clutch pushed in. I keep reading that it might be the u- joint but if anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks

Jack up the rear and start turning the axle then keep going forward checking everything. That's a hard one to get without hearing it.
