Half Doors Are Sexy

I really like the look of the factory Jeep half doors. Does anybody make an OEM replacement for the half door? I've seen Bestop's & others' soft or "aftermarket" doors. I'm looking for "factory" doors though.

If you are in SoCal, I've got a buddy with a set of factory half doors for sale right now. I think he's asking for 300 bucks for them.

Why, For the Love of GOD

Why, For the Love of GOD, would you want half doors, when you can go DOORLESS?

The sexiest thing of all is going doorless and topless.

try lifting with your calves . sit down on the entry rail of the door towards the front of jeep and shut the door as much as you can and lift with knees calves

What i did is put a folded over shirt over the hinges and i went at it with a hammer, knocked the crap out of it and the doors came right off when i tried pulling the next time.

Half doors are the only doors to have! (if you must have doors, that is)

Half doors are the best. I don't know that I would ever trade.

So I tried to remove my doors last week... Both of the bottom nuts broke off, unfortunately. Will that stop me from removing the doors? I tried lifting up and nothing doing...

I've had both. I like the feel of half doors when its hot out, but I like full doors better now. (I never would have guessed, because i liked the half doors a lot). Its nice to not have to deal with plastic windows, zippers, noise, and storing the uppers in the jeep.

I love the full doors for the winter time. For the summer time, I'd prefer to have the half doors.

Unfortunately here in Chicago, the weather is hit and miss so we're not able to go doorles for too long of a time before we get some rain. And I think that the weight of the halfs would make it much easier to get them off & on in the summertime. Them full doors are heavy yo.

Half doors don't weigh much at all, even I can take them off and into the house and put them away all by myself, and I'm scrawny. Just another reason to love them...

Here in Chicago too, I've found the half doors, with slider uppers to be a great combo. I got a rack that the hinge pins go into on on the wall and they come off and on all the time in seconds. I pounded out my beat up bushings and put those delrin ones in to make it even easier.

Doors off this weekend in Chi-town for sure - 85 degrees and Sunny!

For the record PB Blaster is a far better penetrant than WD 40 IMHO. But if the door hinges swing freely then your problem is more likely with a damaged hinge pin probably near the bottom that won't allow the door to travel upward in the hinge. Just my $0.02 Good luck!

I got ALL door styles, and I will say, the half doors are the best...I only have a hard top and full doors on the plow jeep (red YJ) because of the abuse I put it through. I don't drive my CJ in the winter, and it has full soft doors, since that is all that was offered in soft tops for 1972, and hard tops are rare...but in all, half doors rock!!
