half doors to full doors?

Hey everyone first time poster! Hey I have a question, I looked around and didn't find this topic so sorry if this has been discussed b4. But I have a 1999 Jeep wrangler sahara with half doors, and I was curious if it was possible to replace them with full metal doors? And if so where can I purchase some? My soft uppers cracked 2 winters ago and am planning of replacing them but was curious if I could just get the full metals instead. Thanks for your time.

sweet!

Hey thanks for the info. been looking online and can't find any, I mean I can find some used ones that won't match the color but would rather just buy some black ones that I don't have to paint. but thank you so much for the help.

Just bought some new door skins for my TJ on Fleabay for $99 for the pair. Made by rough country.

The full steel doors will run you close to two grand for what I've seen (not including paint) Quadratec used to have 'em.

Have you considered sliders?

I asked this same question Saturday because I had found a set on Craigslist for $300.00 but they had sold before I could get in touch with the guy.

Did try switching the driver door on another Jeep but door wouldn't close. It looked like the hinges on the door would have to be adjusted.

Craigslist is the best place as mentioned before. I did check with a junk yard yesterday and they had a set off of a 2000 Wrangler for $500.00 but that was more than I wanted to pay.

Good Luck,
Tim

They might have been off a YJ. YJ doors fasten with a striker pin on the body and TJ doors fasten with a hoop on the body.

You probably tried to put yj doors on.

I did this switch, had half doors (hated them, sorry). Found a set of white doors for $900 (my jeep is white) and bought em. Sold my half doors for $400 and the uppers for $75, made back some of the money. I see doors on eBay a lot. Anywhere from $800 to $1300 seems to be the range they go for.

I have 2006 black full hard doors, charcoal interior, and I want to trade for black half doors uppers and lowers if any one is interested. I'm in Atlanta Georgia.

I would agree about Craigslist. You can sell almost anything there.

Piece of advice with the hard doors though VSTAR07. You loose your armrest. Full doors are in my opinion crammped. What would I know though, I have only been daily driving with full doors for five years. The only thing I can't figure out is why it took me so long to decide to get rid of them. To me the only reason to get hard doors is if you run a hard top. Even than I would add an aftermarket arm rest so that you're not totally miserable.

On second thought, I am keeping my full-doors. As much as I complain about them, they are easy enough to store and in the winter they are a lot better than half doors. I would use half doors in the summer and full doors int the winter. I agree with yellow, keep your half doors and find full doors.
