Half doors have a cloth top half to them. The windows are plastic and use a zipper.

Full doors are all metal and have a handle to roll up the glass window.

I got half doors on mine because after owning several cars and having the roll up/down mechanism breaking, I wanted no part of it. Plus the half door is perfect for an arm rest for me.

Picture from yesterday of my Jeep:

Those are half doors with the window part taken out. There's three posts that you use to stick the cloth top half back in.

i was thinking about buying a pair of sliders. When its warm I usually have the whole window off, and the slider would be nice in the winter, and cooler months when you dont wanna open the whole damn window in 30 degree weather.

In short... Half doors look way cool, more practical while full doors suck big time.

I have been searching for two years now for a good set of half doors to replace my stupid full doors

haha see i have half doors and want full, i want full for mudding, no a/c in my jeep and if you unzip the window mud gets in where you can crack the windows just a little open on fulls and get some air in, also the fabric windows are hard to clean and leak.

Testify. I did that and in a moment of impatience, wound up with a nice set of plastic, after-market doors. I liked them, but she-who-must-be-obeyed prefers the slightly-mismatched (color-wise) factory doors I got on Craig's. If you don't mind black doors, I really dug those after-market doors.

I seem to always run counter to the popular view. I hated my half doors. Stupid zipper windows ... try rolling your window down only half way when its a zipper ... or just "cracking your window" for a little air. Then I was always leaving the uppers in the garage so they wouldn't get stolen laying in the back of the jeep, but then I didn't have them with me to put back on when I need them. Bought myself a set of full doors, took only one day on craigslist to sell the half doors.

I'm not a huge fan of half doors either. I like having full doors when it's cold or wet out and being able to easily navigate the drive thru without all the zipper nonsense. I pull my full doors and run tube doors for about half the year anyway, so in my opinion I've got the best of both worlds.

I have half doors on my jeep and started out with the zippers...what a PITA! my zippers eventually gave way and couldnt zip up anymore. so i bought the sliders and have been pretty happy. they are much easier to handle in the drive thru (as schmo was talking about) and the road noise is actually much less. a great upgrade for the half doors
