Hard door uppers for winter

I am planning to try and make some hard door uppers for winter. I was shocks that other jeep sites want anywhere from 750 to 1000 bucks for a set. I don't really care how ugly the inside of the door is as long as the outside looks somewhat presentable. I'm planning to cut the door uppers out of plywood using my soft uppers as a sort of template. I'll make sliding windows... I'm thinking this will be the tricky part. Then coat the inside and outside with fiberglass resin. Next coat the outside with regular automotive Bondo and finish with a coat of black paint. Has anyone else even thought about this or tried it? Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Find a used set of hard uppers on Craigslist. If you were closer to NC I would sell you mine!
