Hard time changing gears & jumping out of second

I tried searching for this but had a hard time filtering through the transmission threads. Pardon the clutter.

All of a sudden I am having a hard time changing gears and having it lock into position.
When I get it in second gear it will sometimes jump out and make the grrrr sound.
Any idea what is in store for me?

Didn't do any wheeling or anything. Just trying to survive Boston traffic.

give us some info
year,model,milage,stock?

with that said my 98 sport with 200k miles use to be hard shifting in 3rd and would pop out of 1st very violently with a huge bang.
I changed my tranny fluid to 5w10 synthetic motor oil and 30k miles later it has ever done any of that again. It shifts like new.

01 wrangler sport about 121k miles. Everything under the hood is stock. I am due for a change so that could very well be the problem. Just happened fairly suddenly tonight so it got me pretty worried. Can't afford something major =/
