Hard top

Thinking of trading my hard top for a semi-new soft top and 500.00. Should I? Reason being that it's a pain to take off n on the hard top were as the soft top is like a convertible.

I love my hard top, easy to remove and better sense of security when it's parked.

It's my toy so I hardly put highway miles unless I'm traveling to hit the slopes or lake which is only about 21/2 hours away. It rarely gets below 20 during the winter f that. Thanks for all your inputs

I have a soft top(sailcloth) I live in south Louisiana and it freezes here but no snow, just ice on the Top.Its cold and I deal with it.The main thing with a soft top is zipper upkeep. They need to be cleaned and lubricated alot.My bestop sail cloth top was about a year old and the rear window zipper around the curves dosent hold together, then its hell getting the window off.Maybe its because my top is so tight........yea I need to loosen the bow a lil bit.

stock soft top is loud at speed higher than 40mph.Dont even try to talk on a phone,ya wont hear anyone. The sailcloth top was a lil quieter.Held heat from the heater a lil better but its still a cold mother in the Jeep when its icy.

plus make sure you have the hardware, like the plastic door surronds, bolts for them, framework and header with latches.find out what kinda top it is cause some el-cheapo soft tops suck and only cost $200

you can sell your current top and buy a complete new soft top system or a sail cloth top.sailcloth is the way to go,its thicker and less flapping in the wind

Thanks... the soft top that I got for my hard top was a best top heavy duty soft top that was only about 9 minths old I took a ride in it before we traded and really wasn't that bad. It was super cold and windy outside and we were going bout 40 mph and with the heater on it did pretty good minus the flapping of the windows from the wind. Other then that I had no disappointments.
