Hard top

Just picked up an oem hard top for my new to me TJ, is there any weather stripping or anything that is supposed to be between the windshield and the top or the rear tub rails and the top?

I know there is some between the rails and the top. I think there is already some between the windshield and the top on the jeep itself

The seal that was on my hardtop where it meets the tub was all chewed up and I had a roll of some basic stick on weatherstripping laying around so I used that to replace it. The seal kit isn't expensive and I was going to buy it if this cheaper fix didn't work. But so far its worked great.

I tried that route but the weather strip foam sticks to the tub and tore two years in a row when I took the hardtop off for the softop. Go to the auto parts store and get RV/Camper seal. It is very dense foam with a nylon weave covering.

Go to Home Depot and look through the multiple offerings for weather stripping. I picked some up that looks like to "rails" that can be easily separated to go around the mounting holes. That way, no need to punch holes through the seal. Sealed great!!
