i recently looked about buying a soft top for my jeep. but i had a question about my doors. will the soft top would fit on my hard top doors?? i have saw jeep with soft tops with hard top doors they have a little black plastic piece all the way around the top of the doors..... the guy at the 4 wheel parts store said that he didn't know the name of it and he couldn't order them. can anybody tell me what they are called or even better where i can find them.
i was wondering about this myself. Have a hardtop with full doors. and i picked up a OEM 06 softy with harware but wasnt sure if i needed the surrounds.
you'll need the surrounds for the soft top anyway.
without them you may as well have a safari top.
you cant seal the side widows or top to door without them.
hey i found a lot on ebay but the best pair that i could find is sahara edition...... im pretty sure that will not matter but i just wanted make sure????
well i guess im gonna have to get a set also if i wanna run my soft top. I will wait till you get yours so we arent bidding up the price against eachother...lol
should fit fine, they changed a couple things, but as long as you're installing all the hardware together you should be fine.
i know they changed the rollbar bracket, and tailgate bar at somepoint, ive heard about the header bar but i couldnt confirm that one.
so long as all your parts are from an 06 it should fit just fine.
i found a OEM soft top on craigslist with door surrounds. its black with the tinted windows....... the guy put it on his wifes Jeep and she didn't like it because of security issues at the mall he had it on the jeep for about a week...... long story short i bought it for $400 and it is practically new.... i plan on putting it on tomorrow hopefully i can figure it out im not sure that i know where the poles hook up at inside..... does anybody have pics on where it bolts up at inside.... thanks
Yeah, once you have it in your hands and near the Jeep it becomes self explanatory. The door surrounds will be the easiest part, so simple a caveman could do it.
i know how it goes on i just dont have the pieces that stick thru the roll bar padding that bolt on the roll bar...... does anybody know what these pieces are called
ok i just got off the phone with the Jeep Dealership they gave me a few part numbers i looked on jeep4x4center.com and they have the parts they are sold seperatly as right side and left side they are $16.99 a piece does anybody know where i can find these parts cheaper??? .......im tight with money i try to save every penny that i can
you'll just have to pony up the cash for the brackets, but by "special" they really mean Torx. you can go to the hardware store and get a screw to fit the bracket once you get it, Torx or otherwise.
depends on your area... around here there aren't any TJs in the junkyards.
