I'm thinking the same thing. My the TJ tops have the two clamps on it just like a soft top does.

Yeah my bet is you have a YJ top, this is what the tj top has for windshield fasteners.

Can I buy those clamps separate or
Is that build in to the Tj hard top... The thing with this top is that it was mounted on a yj but it didn't fit it was either too wide or too long in length so we thought it had to be for a Tj

Its a YJ top... As they have a different mounting system to the windshield... It's the wrong top... Even if it did fit you would still have to change out the front bar that holds it to the windshield as it looks like all the holes are rusted out and wouldn't hold the bolts anymore...

The smooth top and short vents on the side give it away as a YJ top. TJ tops have ridges on the roof and the side vents are pretty much the same heigth as the window.

- Return it if you can if they sold it to you as a TJ top. YJ tops are around 2-300. TJ tops are 5-800.

- Sell it and get a TJ top.

- If you really want it or are stuck with it, there are threads and links how to modify it. You have to cut/sand the front edge for it to fit right.

Drove 3 hrs one time to get full doors from someone who swore he had TJ doors. I got there only to see YJ doors. Guy said he was a mechanic and had pulled them from a TJ that he once had. Needless to say that sucked. Luckily I knew what I was looking at and didn't buy them. Moral to the story is make sure you know what you are buying before you turn over the cash.

Might be out of place but I have read/ heard about tops bowing out/ losing their shape if not stored properly....

I never had a hard top for my TJ..but that looks just like the top I had for my 94 YJ......hope where you got it will accept return and maybe get it back on the YJ?

Good Luck!
