Mine is probably getting painted with the extra Raptorliner when I ever get to do my tub.

I have quite a bit of leftover raptor, and I'm not going to do my hardtop with it. That'll add quite a bit of weight, and most of the time it's only me doing the hardtop removal. Think I'm going with fusion.

I'd like to know too. I have some damage I need to repair before winter. I was thinking rattle can bed liner or similar.

The top is rough texture anyway so I think a rattle job might be the way I go.With good paint.

the top comes from the factory with a similar texture to raptor-bumpy but not rough. Rattle-can liner (at least Rusto's spray on) is much rougher. Not fun to rub against. My bumpers are rusto-lined and will give rash if you bark bare skin on them.

Krylon Fusion - faded and blotchy black to Sand Stone. Looks great and much cooler temps inside.

Mine needs it badly. What kind of prep is needed? I read that to get the best results to wash the top with trisodium phosphate and light scrub pad?

I used roll on paint. Satin black. Looks great. Dosent peel or chip. Roll on is so easy and the way to go if done right,

One coat of plastic primer and two of Rustoleum black satin, all applied with a brush and 2 " roller. No brush marks, but some very slight differences to 'shine'. Gave it an application of black boot polish and it now looks like it was sprayed on. (That was 3 months ago and not had to touch it since) (not updated profile photo yet)

Honestly it dosent have to be 100% perfect either.. Hardtops attract so much dust/ dirt and mud that it wont matter too much shine wise. Just do the best you can and you will be happy im sure. Mine is nearly perfect and i did it with a roller. maybe 1 small run spot on the top but nobody sees it
