Hard top question

Found a free hard top that fits a cj7 30miles from my home.

Will it fit our 2002 tj and if not can I make it work with a few mods.

I think your tj would be too wide but im not sure exactly.
I do know that you could use some cj hardtops on yj but im not sure about a tj.

If you dont get stuck, you're not trying hard enough.

I was afraid of that.

I did a search but came up with nothing.

In the last month there have been two tj tops on craigslist but neither seller has responded to my reply

If I wanted a Hummer, I would have asked your sister.

Man, I tried to sell my hard top on craigs list forever and no one showed any interest. I even offered to trade it straight up for a soft top... Nothing.

You're not in the Chicago area by chance?

Nope, Lafayette, LA.

Here is a link showing a cj top on a tj. It looks like it might work with some modification. That's the problem, my daughter ain't gonna like any of my modifications

I know the link says yj on tj, but look on down the page and it says cj on tj.

Windshield is way different on a TJ. Even if you "made it fit" I'd be a little worried about water and wind noise.

Also, hardtops need to be safely mounted/secured. There's a lot of force when you slam your brakes on, or god forbid, run into something. Just a safety worry if you try to make-do.
