Unhappy liftgate weather stripping 1998

The dealership price was hundreds of dollars...don't remember the exact price, but even the parts department was embarrassed by the price..........

i have the same issue and just went to Home Depot and picked up some weather stripping. it has worked for 3 months. but looks like it will not last much longer. but as cheep as it is if i have to replace it every 6 months so what. i just stuck it to the weather strip that was already on there. u cant tell it is there from the out side.

Thanks for the link scribble!!! My lift gate trim is broke on my tj & I have been looking EVERYWHERE to no avail. Didn't want to buy a whole new liftgate since mine is fine besides the trim.

If you need a quick, temporary fix: head to Home Depot/Lowes and pick up a self-sealing polyethylene copper pipe wrap insulation for $1.68. Fit it to the bottom of the rear window and remove the adhesive tape. I've had one on for about a week now, waiting for my part to come in from pacific windshield. There is still a small gap at the bottom, but it does keep the water out.
