hard tops and kayaks

how do you guys transport kayaks with the hard top on i know people just strap them down when the tops off but as it is winter is there a good way to do this? pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Get you a jet ski trailer and carry them that way! I did that with my 08 Scion and would never do it any other way! Much easier than car topping especially with a Hobie PA or Hobie AI. If you have to, a lot of buddies I know used the bed extender from harbor freight to take their yaks...

Look around on Craigslist. I picked up a Yakima rack similar to the Congo Cage for 100$. Putting it on today.

I mounted a pair of handles to the hard-top , they are bolted on and also mounted a pair of light mounts on the front.

I'm going to mount another pair of handles on the hard-top just behind the doors.

I have a set of Thule load bars mounted to the fiberglass of the hardtop. No leaks at all and the 14' tandem kayak I have still doesn't weigh enough to cause difficulties.
