Hardtop color change

thinking of changing my hardtop color from tan to black. looking for ideas on how to do this. thinking about either plastidip, vinyl, or maybe raptor liner. any suggestions or pics?

Bedlining it would be tough to keep it clean, Plastidip would peel off easily, vinyl is a decent way to go but you will end up replacing it every few years. The best bet is Krylon Fusion, made for plastics and pretty tough. Also there is bumper coating, sold at your local auto parts store, also made for plastics, but this doesnt have a glossy shine to it. Post up some pics after youre done, we would all like to see it!

BTW Proper preparation prevents poor performance! If you have questions on preparing the surface just ask away.

Wash with degreaser (dish soap that doesnt have additives) to remove any oils or protectant that is on there. Wet sand with 600 grit paper to give the paint something to stick to. then wash again to get all the dust off. Tape and mask off all the stuff you dont want painted (ie, windows, hinges) and paint away. If you are using rattlecan paint then get a handle, it will save your fingertips.
