You will need a hardtop wiring harness kit-I did that last year!Jeep is kinda high-got mine on eBay for $75.00!You will have to change washer bottle, add pump for rear, run wiring, pull instrument cluster and center dash bezel and add wires and switch for rear defrost, then run harness to rear!Took me the better part of a day,and I used to be a mechanic and car audio installer.I hope you are mechanically inclined-wouldn't recommend it if you are not!Otherwise, not too hard-just time consuming!

do you have the 2 switches(wiper/defrost) in the dash?
if yes, my 1st thought would be to look around the back on the driver's side for plug(about 1-1/1/2" square and a small hose(washer fluid)
if not i'll let others guide you.

also on a 98 anyone know what the 3 switch position is for? have a cover on it but there is a plug hooked to the back
additional thought-look and see if you also have a cover on yours but wires behind-may just need the switches.

If you are talking about the furthermost to the right, that is for the factory fogs. In order from left to right: rear defrost, rear wiper/washer, and fog lights.

Soft top models from the factory do not have any of the wiring installed for the wiper/defrost
