hardtop with spare tire mount

I don't have a spare as of right now but I don't want to mount it on the back again. I want one mounted to the roof. I thought about doing a thru the roof in my hardtop. I wanna mount to the middle crossbar on my rollbars. But I'm not sure how to seal it or keep it sealed. I get alot of rain in upstate NY so keeping the rain out is has to happen. I thought about mounting it strait to the top but I doubt it would take the constant weight of a 31 or bigger when I upgrade. Whose got ideas on how to seal it or re enforce the hardtop to take the weight?

maybe get a roof rack, i'd hate to see you ruin your top.

make something to take up the space between the roll bar and the top, so you have a firm surface to mount too and minimize vibrations.... maybe?

i would trail ride with it up there, although your hard top would be cool with a sun roof

Get a roof rack that has a spare tire option.

Funny u said that I've got a sunroof on order. And I was just throwin ideas around I don't want to get a roofrack. I think im gonna get a mount for the wheel well like a zj or xj. Its nice not having a seat in the back. Whenever someone wants to go on a road trip they always ask to use the jeep and never want to pitch in on gas. So I say screw u guys I'm goin muddin lol
