Hartop Storage options

We are moving so I don't want to install a hoist in our current garage.

I have a storage unit. Have seen the storage dolly's but they are $140. Do you think it would be ok to store in my storage unit...sitting on the top/rear edge just above rear window and tilted back against a wall. That's kinda how the dolly does it. I have a piece of memory foam padding to put under it. I don't want to warp it or mess it up in any way.

Thoughts?

when mine is off the jeep, I keep it in the backyard. It's set off the ground on a little platform, and covered with a tarp. never had issues with it.

I think tipped up on foam would work fine.

I put eye screws in the garage ceiling and use hand ratchet straps to lift it up. Cost less than $10

I do this now as well. However, I used to leave it resting on a small platform of 2x4's which worked out well for my last Jeep.

Someone here just built one about a Month or two ago for Storing theirs in the
up-right position. Less than $30 if memory serves me right. He used a couple of
2X4's, Foam, and 4 Swivel type Wheels.
He included Photos, Step by Step Build Instructions, and a Material List in his
Thread. Might try searching for the Thread, it might just fill your bill.
