I did that a week or so ago, I didn't like it...I was preparing to put pocket flares on the Jeep. This picture I had just finished installing the rocker guards

I believe I'll stick with flares. I just trimmed my flares upward about 1.5". Running without the flares looks like you sideswiped some trees along the trail.

Turbo, glad you aren't leaving them that way.

Now, when I was a kid, I thought it was cool to remove the fenders from my bicycle, but I grew out of stripping everything down and thinking it looks cool.

Not knocking your taste getalildirty, but if you think those turbo's looks good without the flare, well then..... hmmmmm... go for it.

Here's mine. I bought it with 7" flares on it, I like the look of the stock flares.

Yeah I ran a week without them until my Bushwacker hardware came in, it felt like I had been in so many accidents and my employees even asked if I had sideswipped something.

This is my jeep now

And of course now I am waiting for my bumper to get here to install my new bumper and winch

I took mine off to repair some rust spots. I'm getting 33s on Saturday, so putting new flares on tomorrow.
I only wanted the 4.75" though cause I like how the tires stick out a bit.

Yeah. Im definitley not doing this. It looks alot better with XJs. It will look sick if your running 40's but with smaller tires it looks awkward. I guess anything looks sick on 40s though.

No flares. Just the flat fenders up front.

If you live in the rust belt, get quarters...

I do not like the looks of the front fender and all the holes left behind when you take off the plastic flares. Also, just by removing the flares does not do much for tire clearance because the part that gets in the way and can do damage is the metal lip with all the holes. Even after lifting the Jeep my front tire came up and made contact with the metal lip and bent it and that is when I decided to eliminate the whole fender, get out the saw and put on my MCE flat fenders for some true clearance.

I've had mine off for a couple months and it looks alot better in my opinion. That is if you're running wide tires. I just couldn't stand the holes so I made up some flat pieces to cover them.

My flares are gone but that's not a good idea in most states & it isn't in California where I live. I made some quick install/remove mud flaps for the rear where I pull a pin to remove them which means I can be legal in seconds if I get pulled over.
