My advice ....... Find an APPROPRIATE alternative.

Is your paint THAT bad?

This isn't a popular statement on this board, but whenever you put anything on the sheet metal that isn't a proper paint application, you're just destroying the value of your Jeep. Not to mention the mess that the next owner will have to clean up. Use bed liner, plastidip, and rattle cans for the applications that they were designed and intended. Not for an overall re-finish.

Do it right. If you don't have the funds to have it painted, wait until you do.

I LineXed the entire jeep. Above poster is correct, it will probably lower the value. But, dang is it sweet lol. However, if you are conserned with value, just get the thing repainted

DR, I understand your opinion, and I have no problem with the look that comes with bedliner. To each his own, and that's what makes us all unique individuals.

I guess I'm just an old guy who can't get past the old-fashioned way of doing things.

I am going to order a plasti dip rim kit in the next few weeks. Im gonna do my rims and other small thing in the orange blaze to match my bike.

Nothing wrong with plasti dip. It really does come right off. Its a bit of work but easy to do. watch a lot of youtube and get some extra to try it out 1st. It takes some time to get used to it.

It wont lower the value due to it coming off. If you prep good enough when its time to peel it off you could be done in minutes.

Post up pics if you do it.

Peeling it off a single surface or one area may be one thig but off a entire vehicle and in particular a TJ with a lot of exposed nooks and cranies (hinges, exposed bolt heads etc) will be very difficult task.

I plasti dipped my grille which was mismatching since they repainted the entire car but not the grille. I did the proper prep and it came out good and it is holding up nicely. I did get a little overspray on the fenders but you can scratch it off with a fingernail. As already mentioned it peels right off if you apply it right - they do it to brand new Audis (entire car) and other cars of the sort all the time so I don't think its an issue as long as you prep and be well informed before you do it as already mentioned youtube has stuff all over about it

I used the rattlecan plasti-dip on my rear milk jugs and the plastic gas cap area.
It looked good for a while but it's peeling off due to the pressure washer wand at the car wash.

if it peels right off.......why?
not why does it peel off but if you want a real tatoo, why get a temporary one?
Why isn't there a seperate sticky for the plasti dip/bedliner freaks? Tons of threads about "how do I plasti/bedline almost everything on my jeep" including the blinker fluid container.

I just got a can of plastidip to do some experimenting. Mostly wanted to see what the wheels would look like in black before i go to the expense of having them powdercoated, or just going and getting new rims.

I think it's good for experimenting to see how stuff would look if you painted it. As stated before, with a little work if peels off if you don't like it. I don't believe it would be a good permanent paint job on anything though.
