That's like giving a baby up for adoption and wanted the new parents to send you a picture every week. Very strange.

I see my old 2001 60th anniv ed. around the hartford/west hartford area all the time. Kinda makes me sad because it hasnt changed a bit and I am almost certain it never gets off pavement any more.

I see my 75 F100 every now and then. Sold it in 1992 because the cab mounts were rusted through (Pa truck). Kinda mad because its still on the road today with the same cab mounts. I shoulda got more than 800 for it.

Why is it creepy? I sold a 1987 pontiac firebird drag car one time. Couldnt find the papers and was wanting to contact the guy to see how it was and what he had done to it. Tried searching the net for almost two years off and on. Ended up a friend of mine went to college with the guys son at NADC. The son posted a pic of the car as his profile pic on FaceBook and while looking at my friends friend list, I saw it. We've been talking ever since and I have been invited to Florida where the car is next summer and told he would let me run it a few times. Not only have I made a good friend by finding the car, I have a invite to Fl and a chance to race my car one more time.

Here it is at the Arkansas track:

And at the Florida track with the current owner:

Can't you find out where the vehicle was registered at by using Carfax?

Hey now lets not generalize. It IS weird that youre randomly trying to find a vehicle you sold awhile ago. We don't know who you are, for all we know you made an extra copy of a key and want to take it back for free. You didn't get any contact info from the Guy you sold it to?

Your right my bad lol. Im a high school student and only had the jeep a couple of months before I had to sell it and get a different vehicle. I had to leave school one day to run and sell it to the guy while he was off work for a few minutes (he was a full time ems) and to add it was raining buckets so I couldnt stand around and chat. I have his number because I was going to give him the soft top warrenty and things and a couple months ago I text him multiple times and he never contacted me back. Thats why I thought id post up, and also it would be another person near me that might be interested in offroading someday.

And I would never make a extra key so I could steal it back, I enjoy my freedom to much, Im not dieing to go to jail lol.
And I have a new OHV that I love more than my old jeep.
I was simply wanting to see some recent pics

Like said above, just get a Carfax report. I would not contact the new owner. How would you feel? It would make me neverous and want to change the locks.

I earlier thought your post was a bit strange but as I think about it I often wonder what happened to some of the cars I have owned in the past. It took me over a year to stop staring at every green 2001 Durango that I saw thinking it was the one we traded to get our 2006 five years ago. Traded in my 77 Power Wagon for the TJ I have now. Saw one add for it in the paper from the dealer (1 dollar less than what they gave me for it LOL) but I still look around as I drive through town every time I see one that looks similar (not too Many!). I can understand how you feel. Outside of a carfax or some kinda vin# search not certain what you can do but keep your eyes open.

Please accept my apology if some of us Oldsters (lord I thought I would never call myself that at 48) seem a bit suspicious and grumpy at times. Please keep posting, don't let us scare you away

Hmmm, I have to say, the general reaction to this post really surprised me. Given the very personal connection that most Jeep owners develop for their Jeep, it really didn't seem strange to me, at all, that someone would be curious about what happens to their Jeep once it leaves their hands. I've been through a lot of vehicles over the years and, I have to say, I am often curious what has happened to them. Sort of like driving past a house you lived in, years later, just to see what's changed.

Having said all that, given that you have texted him a few times and he hasn't responded, might be a good idea to let it go...

Might try giving the Guy a call? Depending on his age he nay not be too uppity on texting or night have plan that doesn't allow it.
