Head banger/engine shot???

Ok well i need ur advice, the repair shop just informed me that the lifter on #2 intake is shot well. I had my camshaft replaced last year because of the same problem but with #1. He thinks there may be an oiling problem but isnt sure or what would cause that. I hope i explained that correctly. So how should i proceed?
Keep in mind i am all about cutting costs here.

No real help probably--maybe a suggestion---remember reading about oil pump issue in some of the TJ's here on the forum---but it may have been the 4.0s and not apply--was in a thread about valve lifter noise---if oiling problem is accurate diagnosis--maybe oil pump needs replaced--as well as lifter? I think I would consider another shop if tech at this one can't figure out why not getting oil? How familiar with Jeeps is the tech? Good Luck!

You may just be better off replacing the motor. Doing this one piece at a time could cost you more in the long run. Put in the whole dollar up front and not 5 or 6 quarters seperately. my $0.02
